When most people think about a holiday exchange the popular destinations of Tenerife and Florida spring to mind.
Today you can holiday at agri-tourism farms in Italy, where you can taste wine and olive oil produced right on the premises or even go truffle hunting, then there’s environmentally focused resorts in South America where you can get closer to nature.

Finland – the land of surprises
Finland is a land of wondrous natural attractions from its 187,000 lakes, to the natural phenomena that graces this northern land. There’s the Midnight Sun which bathes the country in almost 24-hours of summer sunshine. Then in winter there’s the heavenly light show of the Aurora Borealis.
Finland is a gift which keeps on giving – hardly surprising given that Lapland takes up the north of the country, home to Santa Claus himself.
From October to April Finland is a winter wonderland with an array of activities on offer from skating and skiing, to snow safaris, snow-mobiling and wilderness barbecues.
As spring blooms, the colourful countryside awakens to bright, sunny days, wild flowers thrive and lakes make for a perfect playground for swimming, boating and fishing.
Aye, aye, Captain
For those that love the feel of a sea breeze in their hair there are an array of yachting holiday exchange options and destinations available.
Yachts are available from Croatia, to Turkey, across the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and in the Caribbean. They offer the independence and freedom of choosing your destination and stopping whenever and wherever you want, you even decide when you want to pull into port.
If you prefer messing about on the river to taking to the ocean there are houseboats available for holiday exchange on a number of the UK’s canals and waterways and in the centre of Venice, Italy.
From the very north where the Himalayas cascade into the tea estates of Darjeeling and Assam through to its palm-tree lined beaches India is one of the world’s most remarkable countries.

Hungary’s leisurely lake
Lake Balaton, affectionately known by locals as the Hungarian sea, is Europe’s largest body of fresh water.
The lake has two shores, the southern one has the shallowest water and is safest for children, while the northern side caters for a more mature crowd looking for a quiet break. During the summer water temperatures rise to a warm 25C.
Covering 600 square kilometres, the lake has a number of popular resorts such as Balatonfüred, Siófok and Keszthely. Lake Balaton is a great destination for family holidays, and a haven for people who love the great outdoors, offering sailing, horse riding, golf and more. In winter it’s popular for ice-skating and ice-sailing.
Nearby, Europe’s largest thermal lake, Lake Heviz is and the second largest in the world and its mineral-rich water has plenty of medicinal properties.
Journey to Jordan
In the heart of the Middle East, Jordan has an unforgettable scenery of rugged mountains, arid desert, fertile valleys and plains.
Amman is a lively capital city with an established culinary reputation due to a plethora of excellent international and fine dining restaurants. The city’s treasures include a 2,000-year-old Roman amphitheatre and the Jordan Archaeological Museum which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Jordan offers much to holiday exchange visitors from the ancient Roman ruins of Jerash, to the Dead Sea, the red rose city of Petra, and the deserts of Wadi Rum to the southern most port of Aquba with its coral reefs.
