Luxury trip: Toronto a city break in the lap of luxury

I love a city break and have heard great things about the Canadian city of Toronto, so felt it only right to head over the pond to pay a visit.

This week LiveShareTravel will be bringing you all the luxury offerings from Toronto as I bask in the sumptuousness of the Shangri-La Hotel Toronto.

The Shangri-La is one of Canada’s premier hotels and one of the city’s shining stars since it opened last September. The hotel will be our luxury base as we experience the best of tantalising Toronto.

We’ll be visiting areas such as the city’s Waterfront, Distillery and Entertainment districts and more, to  get a real feel for the city but would also love to hear of any luxury travel tips you can share with us from your visits there.
Our itinerary includes a visit to the CN Tower – one of the tallest buildings in the world where we’ll be dining at the very top at 360 restaurant. I only hope I have a head for heights.

If my nerves hold up I will also try a walk over the CN Tower’s, glass floor, looking down 432 metres to the ground below. Supposedly the glass can hold the weight of 14 hippos, so I guess our little group of four writers will be OK.

We're taking it to the top to discover luxury in Toronto

Is Toronto a luxury city?

I also hope to check out some cool Canadian shopping while in Toronto. Apparently, the city is home to internationally renowned designers and some very trendy shopping areas – I’ll let you know what great fashion finds I unearth.

Plus I’ll be sampling the arts and the city’s finest architecture. All this in a bid to discover if Toronto really has earned its luxury stripes.

It’s always great to travel with friends, especially when on a luxury city break and I’ll be in great company in Toronto. My travelling companions include Keith JenkinsIsabelle Kenis and Abi King.

You can follow our travels in real-time on the hashtag #LuxuryToronto from November 14.

This campaign is brought to you by iambassador and is sponsored by the Canadian Tourism Commission, Tourism Toronto and Shangri-La Hotel Toronto. LiveShareTravel maintains full editorial control of all content published.

    • Thanks Katrina, it was all rather indulgent. Further to that, indulgent tales and drool-worthy food photos are coming right up.
