History comes to life at every turn in the dramatic Italian capital city of Rome writes Andrea Anastasakis of Rear View Mirror

This photo of the statue of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius was taken at Capitoline Hill in Rome, not far from the Roman Forum.

The piazza and surrounding buildings, all of which are now museums, were designed by Michelangelo as part of his urban planning work in Rome.
