Win a week’s holiday at Barnsdale Hall Hotel plus £1,000 to spend

Barnsdale Hall Hotel near Rutland Water ParkIn celebration of its 30th anniversary, Barnsdale Hall Hotel – a rural UK retreat – is giving you the chance to WIN a seven-night holiday for four people at the resort, PLUS £1,000 spending money!

Barnsdale Hall Hotel, located on the picturesque shores of Rutland Water, has become one of the most sought-after family holiday destinations in the UK. A former hunting lodge, built in 1890 for the 6th Earl Fitzwilliam, its royal origins give the resort a traditional charm, while still offering modern facilities for a great holiday break.

The RCI Gold Crown resort is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, so what better time to enjoy a holiday here and to join in the celebrations?

Explore England’s smallest county and the Rutland Water

Situated in the heart of Rutland – England’s smallest county – surrounded by rolling countryside and the impressive nature reserve, Rutland Water, Barnsdale Hall Hotel is perfectly placed both for those looking for total relaxation or an activity-filled non-stop holiday.

Enjoy a break in the heart of the Rutland countryside

There are several cycle paths around the reservoir and a cycle hire shop where you can hire bikes at reasonable prices. It is also home to Rutland Watersports Centre, which offers opportunities for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, which are all great activities for the family to enjoy together.

Rutland Water is a breeding sight for Ospreys

Rutland Water is also a breeding site for ospreys and there are two nature reserve centres to visit where you might see some splendid wildlife, and learn about the current conservation projects.

To relax, there is even a beach at the reservoir where you can splash around and get the seaside feeling, especially on a warm day. You can relax in the sun with a picnic, or even bring your own barbeque, which makes for a great day out.

Normanton Church on the banks of Rutland Water makes for a spectacular sight at sunset

The pretty market towns of Uppingham and Oakham are close to the resort. They both offer a variety of boutiques, farm shops and family-run stores, so there are plenty of opportunities to pick up a treat.

Both towns are old villages that have grown over the years, so you will find some traditional pubs where you can stop for a refreshing drink and a bite to eat.

Choose your home from home

Barnsdale Hall Hotel caters for every taste when it comes to accommodation, which is spread out over its vast grounds. The rooms in the main hotel are elegant and traditionally decorated, many of which overlook the reservoir.
